For Sheriff administration and a specific county record request, start with the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Jamison Wiggins, 25 S. 100 E., Moab, UT 84532, 435-259-8115. Administration hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 24/7 Grand County Jail line is also 435-259-8115. Inmate mail uses a different address: C/O Grand County Jail, 125 E. Center St., Moab, UT 84532.
For a Sheriff-held booking or arrest record, the Sheriff forms and documents page identifies records contact Ronnie McCurdy at rmccurdy@grandcountyutah.gov. Requests may be made in person or electronically using the current GRAMA process. Describe the record specifically and provide identification. Published Sheriff fees include $25 per hour after the first 15 minutes, $1 per report page, printed photos at $2 each with a $10 minimum, digital photos at $20 plus applicable media, and a CD or thumb drive at $25. Confirm the current fee and any release conditions before requesting a record or image.
- Current county custody: Review the dated Grand County Jail Inmate List and call the 24/7 jail line when confirmation cannot wait. It is a snapshot, not a real-time, searchable booking archive.
- County booking record or releasable image: Use the Sheriff GRAMA route above. Utah GRAMA is Title 63G, Chapter 2. The Sheriff’s stated target is as soon as reasonably possible, no later than 10 working days, or five working days for a qualifying expedited request. Utah Code §63G-2-305(80) treats a jail-booking image as protected unless an exception applies, while §17-72-802 imposes separate limits on obtaining a copy. A fee does not guarantee that a record or image will be releasable.
- Moab police report: A City-held report belongs with the Moab Police Record/Report Request process, not the Sheriff’s jail-file process.
- Court case or disposition: Contact Grand County Justice Court, 125 E. Center St., Moab, UT 84532, 435-259-1334, jcmoab@utcourts.gov, or Seventh District Court at 125 E. Center St., 435-259-1349. Public case research may also begin with Utah Courts Xchange.
- State-supervised person: Use the Utah Department of Corrections offender search for UDC supervision. It does not establish current county-jail custody.
- Federal or immigration custody: Use the official Federal Bureau of Prisons locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator. Those systems have their own coverage and do not replace the Sheriff’s records process.
